Competition Rules

​1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.

2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.

3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.

​4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.

5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.

Scoring Criteria

• Accuracy of Knowledge and Logical Consistency: Throughout the entire process of answering questions, knowledge points are applied precisely and appropriately, and the problem-solving train of thought is logically clear. Starting from the elaboration of the principles of the Chinese language, through the reasoning process based on these principles, and finally to the derivation of the final conclusion, every step is closely connected, and there are no obvious knowledge errors or logical loopholes. When answering expository and analytical questions, the understanding of Chinese characters and word concepts, grammatical rules, and rhetorical devices is extremely accurate, and the demonstration process is methodical and well-structured. Just like an excellent opera actor accurately grasping the pitch and rhythm of the aria, it ensures the accuracy and consistency of the entire answering process from start to finish, making every language expression and logical deduction conform to the inherent laws of the Chinese language.

• Application of Methods and Demonstration of Skills: The participating contestants are able to skillfully apply a variety of suitable methods and techniques for Chinese learning and application in the competition. For example, in reading comprehension questions, they can skillfully use methods such as rapid browsing and detailed intensive reading to quickly grasp the main idea and key information of the article. In the writing section, they can flexibly use a variety of rhetorical devices (such as metaphors, personifications, and antitheses), and sentence structures (such as parallel sentences, rhetorical questions, and classical Chinese sentence patterns) to enrich the content of the article and enhance its literary grace. When making oral expressions, they can reasonably use the ups and downs of intonation, the changes in speaking speed, and appropriate pauses to make the expressions vivid and natural. The entire operation process is smooth and coherent, just like a singer skillfully using singing techniques such as the conversion between true and false voices, fully demonstrating a good professional quality and excellent mastery of techniques in the field of Chinese, making the answering process efficient and accurate. The contestants are also proficient in interpreting and analyzing various Chinese texts, including classical poetry, modern essays, and novels, and can grasp the deep connotations and artistic features of the texts, which is a key skill in Chinese learning and application.

• Standardization of Answering and Presentation of Expression: When answering questions in the 2025 World Youth Chinese Competition, the writing must be standardized. Chinese characters should be written with correct strokes, neat and beautiful handwriting, and punctuation marks should be used accurately. Oral expressions should have clear pronunciation and standard enunciation. The written expression should be concise, clear, professional, and appropriate, fully meeting the format and specification requirements of the questions. When expounding Chinese-related viewpoints, the contestants are like confident and generous reciters on the stage. They effectively communicate with the judges through precise language, rich vocabulary, and appropriate body language, demonstrating excellent control over the answering process. Chinese professional terms are used accurately and appropriately, and the overall presentation is both easy to understand and maintains a professional standard, enabling the judges to quickly and accurately understand the contestants' viewpoints and intentions.

• In-depth Understanding and Expansion of Innovation: The participating contestants have an extremely profound understanding of the principles of Chinese knowledge and application scenarios involved in the questions. They are not only able to accurately answer relatively basic and surface-level language knowledge questions but can also expand and extend their answers by closely integrating real-world Chinese usage scenarios (such as cultural exchange activities, literary creation practices, and daily communication scenarios). They are able to put forward innovative insights or unique expressions. For example, when analyzing Chinese language phenomena (such as the evolution process of Chinese characters, the influence of the integration of dialects and Mandarin) or literary works (such as a new interpretation of a classic novel, unique thinking about the development of a certain literary genre), they can deeply explore various factors behind the phenomena or works and put forward distinctive thinking directions, which are extremely attractive. Just like a singer integrating abundant emotions into the performance and generating a strong resonance with the judges, this fully demonstrates the contestants' in-depth mastery and flexible application of Chinese knowledge.
