Competition Content
-
In terms of writing tools, the contestants can use brushes (e.g., sheep-hair, wolf-hair, part-hair, etc.) with different types of ink (e.g., oil-smoke ink, loose-smoke ink, etc.), as well as traditional calligraphy paper such as Xuanpaper, burlap, etc., or they can also use stylus tools such as fountain pens, neutral pens, and XiuLi pens, with ordinary writing paper or stylus writing paper for their creations. In addition, the contestants can also use digital writing tools such as digital pads to create their works in any form, giving full play to their personal strengths and creativity.
-
Entrants are required to submit their works in the form of high-resolution photographs. The picture should clearly show the entire calligraphic work, including the overall layout, inscription and seal. If the work has a special flavor of ink and brushwork, details of the strokes (e.g., the shape of the starting stroke, finishing stroke, and the shape of the turning point), or the texture of the paper material, close-ups of the part of the work may be taken as appropriate. The image format is limited to JPEG or PNG, with a file size of no more than [15] MB (a suitable size limit can be set according to the actual situation) to ensure that the details and overall appearance of the work can be clearly displayed.

Scoring Criteria
-
Brushwork and structure: The brushwork is precise throughout the calligraphy writing. The movements of the brush at the beginning, during, and at the end of each stroke are standard, and the control of strength is appropriate, without obvious brushwork errors. The structure of the characters is reasonable, with a stable center of gravity. The relationships between the density, length, and thickness of the strokes are coordinated, and the overall shape is aesthetically pleasing, without obvious structural deviations.
-
Ink charm: The ink color has a rich texture. The changes in shade, dryness, and wetness are natural and appropriate. Appropriate ink techniques, such as dry ink and bloated ink, can be used to make the calligraphy work present a unique charm. The transition and expression of the ink color are smooth and natural, enhancing the artistic appeal of the work.
-
Writing demeanor: The demeanor during writing is dignified and natural. The sitting or standing posture is correct, and the body movements are coordinated, in line with the rhythm and atmosphere of writing. When presenting the work, one can be confident and generous, and have appropriate eye contact or emotional communication with the audience, demonstrating control over the writing process and the work, and creating a good presentation atmosphere.
-
Emotional expression: Have a profound understanding and perception of the emotional connotation of the written content. During the writing process, emotions can be integrated into the strokes. Through the changes in the strength and rhythm of the strokes, vividly interpret the emotional tone of the written content. Make the calligraphy work full of appeal and trigger an emotional resonance with the viewers.
