Competition Rules

​1、Originality: All entries must be completed independently by the participant. No submissions of others' works are allowed. Participants may use their own previous competition works.

2、Content Restrictions: All entries must not contain obscene, violent, sexual, defamatory, inappropriate, or controversial content. Violation of this rule will result in disqualification without prior notice.

3、Personal Data Use: Personal information provided by participants will only be used for competition contact purposes and to distribute competition notifications.

​4、Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure that their personal information is accurate. The organizers will not be responsible for any errors.

5、Acceptance of Terms: By submitting their entries, participants agree to all competition terms and conditions. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant believed to have violated any competition rules, and there will be no appeals process.

Scoring Criteria

• Accuracy of Knowledge and Logical Consistency: Throughout the entire process of answering questions, the application of knowledge points is precise, and the problem-solving thinking is logically clear. From the elaboration of grammatical rules to the reasoning process of sentence construction, and then to the final presentation of the answer, every step is closely linked, and there are no obvious knowledge errors or logical loopholes. When answering expository and analytical questions, the understanding of concepts such as English vocabulary, grammar, and semantics is completely accurate, and the demonstration process is well-organized and orderly. Just like a singer accurately grasping the pitch and rhythm, it ensures the accuracy and consistency of the entire process of answering questions, making every link of language expression conform to the language logic and habits of English.

• Application of Methods and Demonstration of Skills: The participating contestants are able to skillfully apply appropriate methods and techniques for English learning and application in the competition. For example, in reading comprehension questions, they can correctly use skimming and scanning techniques to quickly locate key information, and accurately understand the connotation of the article through intensive reading. In writing tasks, they reasonably use various rhetorical devices (such as metaphors, personifications, parallelism) and sentence structures (such as attributive clauses, adverbial clauses, inverted sentences) to enrich the expression of the article. In oral expression, they flexibly use phonetic techniques such as linking sounds, weak forms, and intonation changes to make the expression natural and smooth. The operation process is smooth, just like a singer skillfully using the technique of switching between true and false voices during a performance, demonstrating a good professional quality and the ability to master techniques in the field of English, making the process of answering questions efficient and accurate. The contestants are also proficient in analyzing the structure of English passages, grasping the main idea of the article and the logical relationships between paragraphs, which is an important skill in English learning and application.

• Standardization of Answering and Presentation of Expression: When answering questions in the 2025 World Youth English Competition, the writing is standardized. The English writing is neat and the punctuation marks are used correctly. During oral expression, the pronunciation and intonation are standard and clear, and the speaking speed is moderate. The written expression is concise, clear, professional, and appropriate, fully meeting the format and specifications required by the questions. When expounding English viewpoints, the contestants are as natural and generous as confident speakers on the stage. They communicate with the judges through accurate language, rich vocabulary, and appropriate body language, demonstrating a good ability to control the answering process. The English terms are used accurately, and the overall presentation is both easy to understand and shows a professional standard, enabling the judges to quickly understand the contestants' viewpoints and intentions.
   

• In-depth Understanding and Expansion of Innovation: The participating contestants have a profound understanding of the principles of English knowledge and application scenarios involved in the questions. They are not only able to answer surface-level language knowledge questions but also expand in their answers by integrating real-world English usage scenarios (such as business negotiations, international exchanges, cultural dissemination, etc.). They are able to put forward innovative insights or expressions. For example, when analyzing English language phenomena (such as the evolution of vocabulary, the impact of cross-cultural communication on language), they are able to deeply explore various factors behind the phenomena and put forward unique thinking directions, which are extremely attractive. Just like a singer incorporating sincere emotions into a performance and generating a strong resonance with the judges, it shows an in-depth mastery and flexible application of English knowledge. At the same time, it also demonstrates the contestants' ability to think independently and innovate in the field of English, bringing new ideas and vitality to the application of the English language.
